Tenjin Glossary

There are lots of different terms and acronyms used throughout Tenjin and the Help Centre, so we have created this little page to help explain what they mean. If there are any terms or acronyms not listed that you'd like help with, please contact us.

Tenjin Hosting Hierarchy

  • Instance: Name of the underlying solution
    • Tenant: Each customer will typically have one tenant, but in some cases may have more.
      • Assistant: Within a single tenant a customer can have one or more assistants.
        • Skills: Each assistant can have one or more skills, allowing integrations with external solutions and providing enhanced functionality.

Flow

  • Welcome Flow: When your users first chat to your Tenjin assistant they will see the welcome flow; the welcome flow only appears once for each new conversation.
  • Conversation Flow: This is the main flow that will continually repeat, allowing your users to have a continuous conversation with your Tenjin assistant.
  • Proactive Flow: The proactive flow allows you to send messages / data from external solutions, which can also appear in your users chat sessions with Tenjin.

Other Terms

  • Assistant: Also known as a Bot, this is the virtual assistant your users will use to chat to Tenjin.
  • Bot: More commonly known as an Assistant, this is the virtual assistant your users will use to chat to Tenjin.
  • CLU: Stands for Conversational Language Understanding, and is another name used for the Natural Language skill within an assistant.
  • LLM: Large Language Model.
  • QnA: Questions and Answers.
