How to add the Webchat Hosted Channel

The Webchat Hosted channel allows your assistant to appear in a browser window, such as a mobile / tablet device. It will appear full screen, maximising all the space available within the browser (and device) window, and making it very easy for your users to see the full conversation.

To add the Webchat Hosted Channel

  1. Navigate to your assistant's dashboard.
  2. Click the Channels icon.
  3. Click the Add Channel button found on the top right of the screen. 
  4. Click the Add Channel button under the Webchat Hosted Channel box. 
  5. Copy and paste the URL into your browser to start a conversation with your assistant. 
  6. Save it to the home screen by following your phone manufacturer's instructions. 

Theming your Webchat Hosted Channel

  1. Within your assistant's Channels page, click the Edit Settings button of the Webchat Hosted Channel box.
  2. You can edit the look and feel of your assistant. 
  3. You can set how long your chat persists. 
  4. JSON editing is also available, by clicking the three ellipses button on the top right of the dialog.
  5. To restore all defaults, click the three ellipses button followed by Revert to default
  6. Click Help for detailed inline help.
  7. Click OK to save.

Regenerating the URL

  1. Click the three ellipses button on the top right of the Webchat Hosted Channel box.
  2. Click the Regenerate URL button.
  3. Click OK to confirm.

Deleting your Webchat Hosted Channel Skill

  1. Click the three ellipses button on the top right of the Webchat Hosted Channel box.
  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. Click OK to confirm.
