Problem
Microsoft Teams does not render multiple line breaks (paragraph breaks) in the same way as web chat, as demonstrated below; web chat is on the left and Microsoft Teams is on the right, with both showing the same content; the content being rendered is demonstrated by the code block, which appears under the message.
As you can see, web chat shows multiple line breaks, but Microsoft Teams does not.
Solution
To perform multiple line breaks in Microsoft Teams when using the markdown editor (for example, Message and Question flow actions), whilst making sure the content appears as intended within web chat, you can use a backslash character at the end of each line; two examples are below, showing the difference of how the backslash can be used.
Using a Backslash at the End of Blank Lines
As demonstrated above, we have now introduced a paragraph break, but the content does not appear as intended with multiple line breaks.
Using a Backslash at the End of Each Line
As demonstrated above, by adding a backslash to the end of each line, including sentences, it will make sure the content appears as intended.
However, as you may have noted, the last line must not have a backslash added, otherwise it will appear within the chat window.
